Stand Up Packaging

Why choose stand-up pouches for building, household and craft products?

Stand-up pouches provide a practical, retail-ready flexible-packaging format for a wide range of selected non-food products. Their gusseted base allows the pack to stand upright on shelf, while selected pouch formats can include resealable zip closures, tear notches, clear windows, handles, spouts or other features to suit the product and customer use.

Where the pouch has suitable top-header space and the filled-pack weight permits, a round hanging hole or Euro slot can be added for hanging display.

They are supplied flat to help save storage and transport space before filling, provide useful space for branding, instructions, warnings and product information, and offer a flexible route from ready-made stock pouches to custom printed packaging.

Ready-Made In stock

Need packaging without waiting for a printed run?

Start with Rightpak’s ready-made pouch range for selected building, household, craft and hobby products.

Choose from stand-up pouches with or without windows, including clear-front options that help showcase suitable contents. You can also explore flat-bottom bags, side-gusset bags, spouted pouches and smaller formats such as 3-side-seal pouches.

Ready-made stock packaging may be useful for:

  • New craft, hobby or creative-material launches.
  • Small DIY repair packs, hardware kits and sample products.
  • Powders, granules, tablets and non-food refill products.
  • Wax melts, candle-making supplies, soap-making ingredients and creative kits.
  • Craft stores, gift shops, markets, trade counters and independent retailers.
  • Ecommerce and marketplace products.
  • Seasonal, promotional and limited-edition ranges.
  • Businesses testing demand before committing to custom printed packaging.

For chemicals, liquids, gels, pastes, solvents, fragranced products, acidic or alkaline formulations, hazardous substances or heavy products, do not assume a stock pouch is suitable. Complete your own assessment and testing before placing a larger order or commencing commercial use.

Check pouch size and product fit

Pouch capacity varies by product density, particle size, shape, fill volume and required headspace. A pouch that holds a stated weight of fine powder may not hold the same weight or volume of coloured sand, kinetic sand, wax flakes, beads, hardware, clay, granules or a viscous gel.

For guidance on pouch size, see our size chart, which uses examples including pick-and-mix sweets, protein powder and sugar or salt. Use this as a starting point, then order samples and test with your own product before placing a larger order.

Custom printed · Your brand

Custom printed packaging

Custom printed packaging is the right route when your pouch needs your brand identity, product name, composition information, directions, warnings, barcode, batch or lot-code area, legal artwork, safety information, a specific closure or fitment, or a more distinctive retail finish.

Rightpak supports businesses from early-stage custom runs through to larger repeat production. Begin with ready-made stock packaging where suitable, then move to custom printed packaging when you need a branded and repeatable pouch specification.

Recyclable Packaging

Recyclable non-food packaging

Recycling label

Rightpak offers mono-material PE and PP pouch options for suitable building, household and craft applications, designed for recycling. The appropriate structure depends on the product’s compatibility and protection requirements, pouch format, closure or spout configuration, filling process and the recycling facilities available where the finished pack is sold.

Products containing solvents, oils, fragrances additives, liquids or hazardous materials may require a different approach. A recyclable-design pouch must still deliver the required product protection, compatibility, seal integrity and customer-use performance.

In the UK, flexible film is currently collected at large supermarket collection points rather than at kerbside.

Why Rightpak for Building, Household and Craft Packaging products

How Rightpak can support your non-food packaging

Rightpak supplies flexible packaging for selected building, household, craft and hobby products. Whether you are launching a small craft range, supplying a retail refill product, creating a DIY kit or managing a broader product portfolio, we offer a practical route from ready-made stock pouches to custom printed packaging.

Built for retail, storage and real-world handling

Non-food packaging has to work beyond the shelf. It must suit filling, heat sealing, storage, picking, delivery, point-of-sale display and customer use.

Pouches are supplied flat and can take up less warehouse and transport space before filling than many pre-formed rigid packaging formats. Once filled, a pouch may also be more compact and lighter than some rigid alternatives, which can help with storage and ecommerce parcel fulfilment depending on the finished pack, product and delivery method.

Rightpak helps businesses explore flexible-packaging formats for retailers, trade counters, DIY stores, hardware stores, garden centres, craft shops, gift shops, marketplaces, subscription services, wholesale supply and direct-to-consumer ecommerce.

  • Ready-made packaging for immediate requirements.
  • Flexible pouch formats for selected powders, granules, tablets, pigments, creative materials, hardware, cleaning products, refills and DIY products.

  • Artwork checks and guidance before custom-print production.
  • One supplier as your product range develops from launch packs to repeat orders.
